Safety Tips

- When you go out with friends you should always stay together.
- You should have the WP Police Dept. phone number programmed into your cell phone, 1-914-422-6111.
- Your emergency contacts should be listed under the name ICE, In Case of Emergency, in the event you are found injured and are unable to speak. Examples would be , Mom ICE, Dad ICE.
- You should have a plan in place with your parents in the event you are uncomfortable and you are looking for way out a situation with out embarrassing yourself. Example: some one starts using drugs or alcohol and you call your parents making believe they called you home and/or want to pick you up.
- Be aware of your surroundings and avoid poorly lit areas at night.
- In the event you feel something bad or dangerous might take place always remember you can call the police Dept. for assistance. Do not wait for things to get out of control.
- Do not be a show off with your jewelry, electronics, cell phone or cash because you may not be aware of who may be watching you and plotting to steal things from you.
- Keep in mind no one has the right to put their hands on you and if you ever feel uncomfortable you should express your feelings to the person that is bothering you and talk to an adult.
- Take ownership of your behavior because the way you speak and conduct yourself will be a reflection of you and your community.
